An emblematic member of Le Splendid, she made her name with cult comedies such as Les Bronzés (1978) and Le Père Noël est une ordure (1982). She went on to make a name for herself in a broader register, mixing humour and drama, notably in Bertrand Blier's Trop belle pour toi (1989), which won her the César for Best Actress. A committed director, her films include Gazon maudit (1995), which won the César for Best Screenplay.
