8th March - International Women's Rights Day

February 13, 2025

To mark International Women's Rights Day, two exceptional screenings will honour inspiring women's journeys. Alice Winocour's Proxima, starring a striking Eva Green, tells the story of Sarah, a French astronaut selected for a year-long space mission. The only woman in a male crew, she must not only prove her legitimacy in a male-dominated world, but also cope with the separation from her eight-year-old daughter. The screening will start at 5.15pm at the Pathé Flon cinema, with State Councillor Isabelle Moret in attendance, and will be followed by a meeting with the director, Alice Winocour.

An opportunity to discuss the issues raised in the film and the challenges faced by women in exceptional careers who have to cope with the expectations and social pressures of motherhood. This screening is organised in collaboration with the Bureau de l'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes of the Canton of Vaud.

This screening is organised in collaboration with the Association vaudoise pour les droits des femmes and the Bibliothèque des femmes.
