After two years at the Conservatoire in Rouen, Karin Viard moved to Paris, where she studied acting with Vera Gregh and Blanche Salant. In the 90s, Karin Viard made her film debut in three comedies. She rose rapidly from high-profile secondary roles to starring in films such as Xavier Durringer's “La Nage indienne” and Philippe Harel's “Les Randonneurs”.

In 2000, she received the César for Best Actress and the Prix Lumières for Best Actress for her role in Solveig Anspach's “Haut les cœurs!”, and in 2003 she won the César for Best Supporting Actress for Michel Blanc's “Embrassez qui vous voudrez”.

In 2018, she starred in the film “Les chatouilles” by Andréa Bescond and Eric Métayer. For this film, she won the César for Best Supporting Actress and the Globe de Cristal for Best Actress.

In 2024, she will star in Isabelle Brocard's “Madame de Sévigné” and Pierre Schoeller's “Dans l'ombre”.

Guest of this 7th edition, she met the public on Saturday 9th March at the EJMA and presented the film “Lulu femme nue” by Solveig Anspach at the Pathé les Galeries. Her interview is also online on our YouTube channel.
